Easy Tips To Get You Summer Ready

I know, it’s not even spring and here I am talking about summer but in my opinion, if you want good results with something you have to start doing things early, especially when we’re talking about our health and appearance. No. I’m not saying you should change the way you look just because summer comes, but let’s face it, we all want to look our best in those summer outfits, so why not make small changes now and then benefit from them later on?

In case you’re like me and you’ve put some weight on in winter, but you do want to look your best in summer and don’t know where to start, here are a few tips to get you started.

Start on the inside

Like with everything, you have to start working on the inside in order to get visible results on the outside. I know I don’t need to remind you that a healthy diet is crucial not only in order to look good but also in order to be healthy. I also know that sometimes changing your lifestyle is very difficult but you don’t have to rush into it or anything. Just take small steps each day and you’ll be amazed by your results.

What steps you might ask? Well, try to eat without or at least with less sugar. Drink plenty of water daily and try to eat as many greens as possible. The Internet is full of amazing healthy recipes, so it’s really not that difficult to find something that will be to your liking.

Start taking proper care of your skin

If you’ve neglected your hair-removal routine during winter, this is the time to start it again, in case you experience any flare-ups from shaving or waxing. In case you’re tired of these hair removal options and you would like to go for something else, I would strongly suggest you should give laser hair removal a try.  It’s not painful at all and the results are long-lasting.

Give your skin a pick-me-up by getting into a good skincare routine. Start with a thorough exfoliation every few days; it’s easiest to do in the shower, while your skin is completely wet. Follow this up with regular use of appropriate moisturizers: a heavier one at night and a light one for the day before long, your skin will look and feel smooth and soft.

Get that body moving

It’s all very well eating a healthier diet and having great skin, but it’s also important to start moving more to improve your heart and lung health, increase the efficiency of your circulatory system and to tone up your muscles. Suddenly launching yourself into a heavy exercise regime could lead to injuries and loss of motivation. The best way to get back into the exercise habit is to make small changes: use public transport or walk, rather than taking the car take the stairs instead of using a lift or escalator and do some jobs at home that you may have been putting off, such as cleaning out a cupboard or repainting the bathroom. As well as burning off extra calories by doing these jobs, they will stop you from snacking and make you feel better.

Shake up your look

Since you’ll be cleaning out the cupboards anyway, you might as well start with your wardrobe. Be honest with yourself about what you are likely to wear again, whether that’s to do with size or style. Hoarding clothes from ten years ago can trap you in a rut and stop you from seeing yourself as you are now; if you can’t judge for yourself, invite a friend over to help you to decide what to keep. You can recycle, sell or throw away anything you don’t want and that way you’ll have more space for a new wardrobe.

In a few words, you shouldn’t look at yourself getting ready for summer as a taste, but rather as a learning process that will give you amazing results. It’s like a self-care journey and you should take your time and enjoy every minute of it!
