New year, new you but that’s not the case when it comes to the pandemic. Sadly, this new year found us exactly like last year, in lockdown, trying to adjust to our new life, a life that’s so different than what we used to call normal.
For many of us, the pandemic and the almost continuous lockdown brought many changes and we had no other choice but to adapt and make the most of every situation. One of the fields that had a dramatic change in my personal opinion is dating.
If before dating meant going out with friends at a pub, probably meeting someone and then go out and get to know each other better, now it’s totally different. Like everything else in our life at the moment, dating has moved online.
Online dating is definitely a trend these days and if you don’t have a profile set on a dating website already, then you should really try considering creating one. I still believe that even nowadays, online dating it’s considered something tabu and people don’t really talk about it so much, but if you look at the bigger picture it’s not bad at all, you have the opportunity to get to know new people who are looking for the same thing as you.

Learn to know each other better
I think this is one of the best chances that online dating has to offer. When you meet someone online you get to know that person better because things go slower than in real life and you can have really deep conversations and get to see how the other person really is.
Movie night
Going to see a movie is a standard date night in my opinion and a lovely one too if I might add. But during the lockdown, you can’t really do that and if you’re living a bit far from each other it’s even more impossible. What then? You just give up? The answer is no!
You can both pick a movie that you would like to see and play it at the same time while you’re also on Face Time. More, you can always download the Netflix Party plugin and enjoy a Netflix show together. Easy peasy, right?
Friends night
Remember when you meet someone you like, meeting its friends is quite an important step in a new relationship. Also, that is not possible at the moment, but it’s always possible to host an online party and get to know each other and have a great time.
Things have taken quite an interesting turn during this pandemic, but if you look at it with a positive eye it’s not that bad and with creativity, you can make the most out of every situation and who knows, maybe even find someone. Take care and stay safe!
