5 tips for Christmas on a budget

Yes, it’s almost here, it’s so close that you can actually feel it, Christmas is just around the corner and that means you have to get ready for everything that involves this holiday. I have to admit, I love Christmas, it’s my favorite time of the year. Everything is so magical and festive and I don’t even mention the lovely family gatherings, it’s simply awesome!

Of course, will all that awesomeness also comes expense and in order to avoid that and to make sure you’re entering the New Year without financial stress, I’ve decided to give you some tips that will help you enjoy the Christmas holiday on a budget. Sounds nice? Then read on!

Set a budget

This is the first and most important step! You have to set a budget and make sure you stick to it no matter what. Think about how much you spend last year if it was enough or maybe more and decide how much would be enough for this year. If you’re worried that you’ll have to pay a lot for Christmas gifts or cards this year, no worries, my next tips will solve that issue too.

Make personalized cards

Sounds pretty expensive right? Well, guess what? It doesn’t have to be! I found the perfect solution for that and you won’t believe what gorgeous pieces I created. You don’t have to take my word for it, you can see for yourself.

Pretty cool, right? You can use any photo of your liking, either downloaded from the Internet or a family photo and you can download font free that you can personalize to your liking. The process is very simple and you can make something really special.

In order the make the cards even more beautiful, you can use more than one font on a picture, that will add that WOW factor and trust me, your card will be the best!

Make DIY gifts

Who said gifts have to be expensive? In the end is the thought that counts more than the gift, right? You can bake some chocolate chip cookies and put them in some cute jars together with a card. Or use again the free fonts from above and create some lovely images with quotes that you can frame and hang on your wall later.

I really think that the ski is the limit with DIY gifts and with a little imagination you can make some really lovely gifts without having to spend a fortune.

Time to decorate

Here, your imagination is the key. I don’t really have a theme for the Christmas tree, I saw very nice trees decorated with only one or maybe two colors, but that’s not me. I like my tree to be cheerful and I use all kinds of decorations and lights in several colors. Since my daughter likes to create all sorts of things, she made for our tree a lot of lovely decorations that I can’t wait to use.

Don’t forget about Christmas dinner

Make a list to see how many people you want to invite and with the menu that you have in mind. It will be easier for you when you’ll go shopping and it will save you time and money because you will only buy things that are on the list without being tempted to get extras.

Don’t forget to involve the kids in some activities, like baking some cookies or decorating some cupcakes. It will be a fun activity and they will know they helped around the house.

These are just a few tips that can help you enjoy the most wonderful time of the year without having to stress about money. If you have other tips, I would love to hear them! Let’s make this Christmas, one to remember!
